The Group has its orgins in 1960 when R.L.Kalthia pioneer founder started the Business in 1960. It reincarnated as Limited Company on 16.02.1996 and certificate to commence business was awarded on 29.02.1996under the nomenclature of Kalthia Engineering & Construction Ltd. (KECL) for infrastructure development - especially roads, dams, canals, bridges and commissioning/erecting of Tabular Towers for Wind Power project etc. KECL has an excellent track record of successful completion of many challenging projects. In view of this KECL has been awarded AA Class contractor certificate with special category 1 HMP & P.F. with GOG for roads and irrigation vide Reg. No. AA/Renewal 11 dated 02.01.2008 up to 31.12.2010.

The Pioneer founder Shri R.L. Kalthia has a vision of consistent growth clubbed with quality, simplicity and commitment oriented activities in business transactions. The persistent progress of the Company is attributable to his leadership vision. The next generation Entrepreneurs including K.R. Kalthia and H.R. Kalthia are managing the affairs of the Company as well as various Sites/Projects on hand.

(i) With liberaliasation and globalization, demand for transportation particularly road transport has been increasing. It is a well-known fact that a 6 percent growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) results in about 12 percent growth in traffic. Therefore, in our growing economy, development of road sector is absolutely essential. In order to cope with the situation, we not only have to build roads, but also strengthen the road network. KECL is anxious to be a vital partner in the road sector who facilitates toil free drive to destination.

(ii)A rail dominant Indian Economy in the 1950s has become a decidedly road dominant economy from 1990s. The Sales are in absolute terms and show persistent growth. The market share could be bigger than smallest. (iii)As part of building up infra - structure, India has started an ambitious Programme of highway construction across the country. The Golden Quadrilateral is truly a futuristic development. Besides, many more thousands of Kms of such road lengths as well as improvements in existing road will be needed. This will provide immense scope for achieving estimates/ projections. The Company has plans to secure high value toll collection projects in future.

The projections of Turn Over are made on very conservative basis. The actual growth is expected to be much higher e.g. Turn Over for financial year 2007/08 was projected at Rs.5233.17 Lacs. But the actual Turn Over has surpassed to Rs.6797.99 Lacs.

PROMOTING JV`S During 2001, we have entered into a joint venture agreements with Suzlon structures Private Ltd., KECL Radhe JV, and KECL Ashish to execute fairly large sizes infrastructure contracts in India. The company is fully competent to handle foreign contracts competitively. It has already ventured with West Cost Generation Corporation, California.

KECL has acquired latest machinery, which improves efficiency, reduces cost, and improves quality standard and timely fulfillment of contract work in execution of the projects. KECL is having state-of-the-art equipments, to meet with NHAI and Ministry of Surface Transport (MOST) Standards and to complete large road construction contracts. KECL has a fleet of number of construction equipments.

The company belongs to Kalthia Group, Bhavnagar. We are mainly contractors in road/canal/dams construction business in Gujarat since 1960. The country has planned to spend heavily on building and improvement of national and state highways. KECL is having requisite technical expertise and established infrastructure to get government contracts & getting into fast track development. In addition to road construction, KECL has ventured into most going industry in India i.e. wind energy systems. List of clients includes among others, State Govt. Dept. such as R & B Division, Irrigation Dept., Rural Roads Projects Division, National Highway Division, Baroda Municipal Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation, Western Railways, Gujarat Industrial Development Corp. MSRDC and NHAI (Rajasthan) and erection of Tubular Towers for Wind Energy System of Suzlon. The company is fully equipped with most modern technological Machineries.
