| Kalthia Engineering and Construction Ltd. (“KECL”),
the flagship company of the Kalthia Group, had entered into
a Memorandum of Understanding with M/s Cadbury Schweppes Beverages
India Pvt. Ltd (“CSBIL”) for bottling & distributing
CSBIL brands i.e. Canada Dry, Crush, Sports Cola, Schweppes
Lemon and Schweppes non carbonated water for the territory of
Ahmedabad and North Gujarat.
It was later extended to whole of Gujarat and Udaipur (Rajasthan).In
the month of Dec.-1999 CSBIL sold their soft drink brands
to The Coca-Cola Company(TCC).
Surbhi Milkfood and Beverages Ltd. has been awarded
certificate of approval from BVQI ISO-9001 : 2000 for quality
standard.
Subsequently, TCC entered into a new Bottlers Agreement with
SMBL for PET packaging of their brands.
Under this arrangement SMBL would sell the packaged goods
only to Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Private Limited (HCC),
a company authorized by TCC to distribute the Beverages within
prescribed territories.
In turn, SMBL agreed to upgrade its plant by importing “PET
blowing machine”, upgrading the high tech CIP systems,
paramix and put up a PET blowing line. PET blowing project
has been completed and SMBL has started in-house PET bottles
manufacturing.
Further HCC has finalized Kinley water project with SMBL
in May, 2002, wherein SMBL executed an expansion project to
set up Water line with PET blowing facilities.
